Job Title: Quality Assurance Technician

Job Description

The Quality Assurance Technician ensures that the plant complies with food regulatory requirements and reports any deficiencies or practices that could compromise food safety, quality, and defense.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor production conditions, specifications, process controls, and tracking controls.
  • Maintain wash line concentrations.
  • Verify checks on production control forms and audit them to meet program requirements.
  • Collect environmental swabs, air sampling dishes, and lab retain samples.
  • Monitor all Critical Control Points (CCPs) online and take corrective actions when necessary.
  • Check pH levels, temperature, and brix of juice batches to ensure they meet product specifications.
  • Document Facility Operation Inspections & Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Perform Standard Sanitation Operational Procedures (SSOPs) verification and ATP swabs.
  • Track non-conforming products and their dispositions.
  • Conduct Pre-Operational inspection procedures of production/bottling equipment and facility.
  • Perform equipment calibrations and make necessary adjustments.
  • Assist with testing food products for compliance with standards and regulations.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in Excel for data entry.
  • Strong multitasking and quality assurance skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Knowledge of GMP, inspection, and FDA regulations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of Quality Assurance experience preferred.
  • 1-2 years of food industry experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations is preferred.
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation communication skills required. Spanish is a plus.
  • Strong leadership, computer, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to adapt to constant changes and work independently with moderate supervision.
  • Must meet deadlines which may require an adjusted work schedule, overtime, and evening/weekend hours.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oceanside, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.50/hr.
