A Solar DAS Technician is responsible for monitoring the performance, health, and uptime of solar energy systems using DAS (Data Acquisition Systems) and monitoring platforms. This role ensures solar assets are operating efficiently, identifies performance issues, and coordinates corrective actions with field technicians or O&M teams.
Weekday Office position out of Ontario, CA
Pay ranges from $35-45/hr depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor real-time and historical system performance through solar DAS/monitoring platforms (e.g., SolarEdge, AlsoEnergy, Locus).
- Identify underperformance, faults, communication losses, or anomalies in solar PV systems.
- Generate performance reports, daily logs, and escalation summaries for internal teams and stakeholders.
- Analyze inverter data, production trends, and environmental impacts to detect performance deviations.
- Coordinate service tickets and dispatch field technicians when issues are detected.
- Maintain accurate documentation of alerts, repairs, and system configurations.
- Support commissioning teams by validating data communication and monitoring accuracy.
- Communicate with customers, asset managers, or project managers regarding performance issues and status updates.
Required Skills & Experience
- Understanding of solar PV system components (inverters, meters, networking, communication protocols).
- Experience using DAS/monitoring platforms and basic data analytics tools.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to interpret inverter dashboards, alerts, and production graphs.
- Excellent communication skills for relaying issues to field teams and stakeholders.
- Basic electrical or technical troubleshooting knowledge preferred.
- Competency with Excel or data reporting software.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ontario, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
