Job Title: Warehouse Dispatcher

Job Description

As a Warehouse Dispatcher, you will be responsible for optimizing daily routes for freight trucks, ensuring timely and efficient deliveries. This role involves dispatching drivers, monitoring traffic conditions, and making real-time adjustments to routes as needed. You will oversee the scheduling of inbound freight and maintain effective communication with both drivers and clients.

Responsibilities

• Dispatch drivers to appropriate locations based on delivery schedules and load requirements.
• Monitor traffic and road conditions to anticipate and address potential delays.
• Maintain consistent communication with drivers via phone, radio, or tracking software.
• Communicate with clients regarding delivery schedules, updates, and any potential delays.
• Coordinate with Customer Support to confirm next day order requirements and ensure loads are ready for dispatch.
• Maintain accurate dispatch records, including driver logs, mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery confirmations.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local transportation regulations.
• Proactively identify and resolve logistical challenges, unexpected delays, and equipment issues.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Freight Truck Dispatcher or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, including DOT and HOS.
• Proficiency in dispatching software, GPS tracking systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent geographical knowledge of Southern California.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with Samsara is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of LTL freight types.

Work Environment

The position involves dispatching 14 drivers and requires working Monday through Friday from 7 am to 4 pm. The role includes data entry, handling inbound and outbound calls, and collaborating with various departments to ensure smooth operations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pomona, CA.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
