Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Logistics Specialist to join our team for a 6–12 month contract-to-hire position. This role is based onsite at our Rancho Bernardo warehouse and involves coordinating logistics and shipping activities efficiently. The successful candidate will work alongside a small team of specialists and report to the Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and book outbound international shipments, with a focus on FedEx.
- Utilize Excel for pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and data sorting to manage logistics tasks.
- Communicate effectively with carriers via email and phone to ensure smooth operations.
- Take initiative to manage tasks independently and handle unexpected challenges adeptly.
- Experience with FedEx international shipping is mandatory.
- Proficiency in logistics and shipping coordination.
- Moderate Excel skills, including the use of pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with cold chain, dry ice, or temperature monitoring is advantageous.
- Familiarity with DHL and UPS international shipping is a plus.
- Understanding of trade compliance is beneficial but not required.
- 2-5 years of experience in logistics.
- Knowledge of HTC and eco codes (tax codes).
- Biotech experience is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree is not required if relevant logistics experience is present.
The role requires working onsite at a warehouse in Rancho Bernardo with a schedule of 7:30am to 4pm. The company is a pre-IPO biotech firm with significant growth potential, providing an exciting opportunity to join before going public.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Poway, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $34.00/hr.
