Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a talented Electrical Engineer to evaluate, interpret, and resolve complex systems engineering problems, ensuring our designs meet specified requirements. You will develop innovative solutions to technical challenges and address both technical and manufacturing issues related to the EMALS and AAG systems and sub-systems.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, interpret, and resolve systems engineering problems to meet design requirements.
  • Develop innovative solutions to advance technical problems in engineering.
  • Address complex technical and manufacturing issues during the build of EMALS and AAG systems and sub-systems.
  • Create, re-draw, and update drawings utilizing engineering change processes and tools.
  • Participate in internal and external technical project/program reviews to ensure they meet defined product requirements.
  • Prepare and review documented design inputs for electrical design, identifying obsolescence to support continuous operation of EMALS and AAG systems.
  • Troubleshoot conflicting design/development requirements and coordinate special material requirements.
  • Review requirement matrices and statements of work to generate basis of estimates for customer proposals.
  • Generate plans and procedures for systems qualification testing and factory acceptance testing using engineering and scientific principles.
  • Present reports at engineering meetings, participate in program reviews, and consult on problems.

Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in PCB design, including high power, digital, and analog.
  • Experience with obsolescence redesign.
  • Knowledge of STD and IPC standards, PADS, and MIL standards.
  • Familiarity with engineering change processes and tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution with four or more years of experience, or a master's degree with two or more years of experience. Equivalent engineering experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
  • Experience in electrical design change processes, including Engineering Change Notification (ECN) and configuration management tools.
  • Prior experience with circuit design of analog PCB, digital PCB, and power PCB.
  • Experience with electrical schematic entry, printed circuit board layout, and parts selection.
  • Familiarity with FPGA circuitry design and coding in VHDL development environments (e.g., Xilinx FPGA).

Work Environment

You will work directly with a team lead and associated electrical engineers on various projects. The role involves supporting electrical designs from conception through to operational test and deployment. You will design and generate electrical component and lab instrumentation test system designs, develop detailed test verification procedures, and troubleshoot existing systems. The work environment is collaborative and technical, requiring precision and attention to detail.
