Job Description
The Human Resources Business Partner plays a pivotal role in fostering a supportive work environment by conducting site visits, discussing concerns with employees, providing feedback, and offering recommendations to the Management, Leadership, and Executive Teams. This role emphasizes a Just Culture, ensuring fair treatment of employees and aiding in resolving issues between management, supervisors, and employees.
Responsibilities
- Advise supervisors and managers on coaching steps related to employee performance, conduct, and behavior issues.
- Collaborate with management to create performance improvement plans, corrective action notices, and disciplinary process steps.
- Administer all workers’ compensation forms, initiate and follow-up on interactive processes, and address employee risk factors and safety issues.
- Manage leave of absence programs, including FMLA, PDL, CFRA, and Accommodations.
- Review terminations to ensure compliance with policies and practices.
- Process involuntary terminations.
- Maintain knowledge of employment policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Travel as necessary to support operational needs.
- Conduct investigations into employee complaints.
- Assist with employment and compliance audits.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in human resources, employee relations, HRIS, payroll, and administrative support.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Exceptional customer service skills, including active listening and problem-solving.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive, professional relationships.
- Excellent interpersonal and public presentation skills.
- Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and produce quality results on time with attention to detail.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- AA/BS in Human Resources or related field preferred.
- Minimum of three years of experience in a generalist setting, particularly in employee relations.
- Nonprofit healthcare experience preferred.
- PHR/SPHR or other human resources certification preferred.
- Multi-tasking ability and capability to work under pressure.
- Commitment to HIPAA and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Adherence to infection control procedures and standards of professional ethics.
- Ability to present and train in de-escalation techniques.
Work Environment
The work environment requires a commitment to HIPAA, adherence to infection control procedures including standard precautions like temperature monitoring, hand washing, symptom self-monitoring, masking, and social distancing. The role involves the use of HRIS, payroll systems, and Microsoft Office. Flexibility to travel is necessary to support operational needs and the ability to function effectively in an emotional or stressful situations is essential.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Sacramento, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $83000.00 - $86000.00/yr.
