Material Handler - 11AM Shift

Material Handler - 11AM Start Time - $22/hr-$24/hr

Job Description

As a Material Handler, you will start by handling receiving tasks, primarily managing packages delivered through UPS, FedEx, and Amazon, including some pallets. You will break down and remove pallets, store materials, and ensure parts are properly labeled and stored in inventory. The role involves conducting cycle counts once or twice a week. Communication will primarily be conducted through email using Outlook, and you will utilize an ERP system, NetSuite. You will support the manufacturing team in a Kanban setting by picking materials based on a provided list, packaging, labeling, and delivering them to the manufacturing team. Interdepartmental transfers will also be part of your responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process packages delivered by UPS, FedEx, and Amazon.
• Break down pallets and store materials appropriately.
• Unpackage and label parts for inventory storage.
• Conduct cycle counts once or twice a week.
• Communicate effectively over email using Outlook.
• Utilize the ERP system, NetSuite, for data entry and inventory control.
• Support the manufacturing team by picking, packaging, and delivering materials.
• Manage interdepartmental transfers efficiently.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in shipping and receiving duties.
• Experience with inventory control and ERP systems.
• Ability to handle dry ice and work in cold room environments.
• Experience with pallet jacks and picking.
• Strong numerical and counting skills with accuracy in data entry.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Flexibility to take on new tasks beyond the current job description.
• Experience with basic warehouse equipment and operations.
• Cold chain experience is a plus.

Work Environment

The work environment includes some cold storage areas at minus 20 degrees. The working hours are from 11 am to 7:30 pm, with required overtime of 1-2 hours a day, ensuring no more than 10 hours of work daily. Currently, there is no weekend work, but this may change, especially during inventory audits. There is mandatory weekend work for two days in May.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA.

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in San Diego,CA.
