Job Posting: Low Voltage Technician

About the Role

We are seeking highly skilled Level 2 or 3 Low Voltage Technicians to join our growing team. The ideal candidates will have strong experience across all low-voltage cabling disciplines and be able to work independently, professionally, and safely onsite.

This role requires technicians who can install, terminate, test, and certify a variety of cabling and security systems with minimal oversight.


Key Responsibilities

  • Install, service, and troubleshoot Access Control systems
  • Install and program Intrusion/Alarm systems
  • Pull, terminate, and troubleshoot Fiber Optic Cabling
  • Install and work with Structured Category Cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, etc.)
  • Terminate, label, and test cable at endpoints using industry-standard tools and testers
  • Dress, terminate, and manage cable on patch panels in communications rooms
  • Build out MDF/IDF rooms, including racks, ladder trays, patch panels, and cable management
  • Follow all safety and installation standards

Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in low voltage cabling
  • Strong knowledge of access control, intrusion, fiber, and structured cabling
  • Ability to independently complete terminations, labeling, testing, and certifying cabling
  • Must have all standard low-voltage hand tools
  • Must be able to carry their own 6-ft ladder
    • If the technician does not have a ladder, they will not be considered
  • Ability to read blueprints and follow detailed scopes of work
  • Reliable transportation and punctuality are required
  • Strong communication and professionalism on customer sites

Preferred Qualifications

  • Manufacturer certifications (e.g., BICSI, Genetec, Lenel, etc.)
  • Knowledge of MDF/IDF build standards
  • Experience with both new construction and retrofit environments

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of San Diego, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $32.00/hr.
