Description

The Communications Representative is responsible for processing communication services between the public, physicians, staff & visitors using the telephone, pagers, and/or overhead paging. In addition, the representative manages pagers, engages in secure text messaging sessions with doctors and nurses regarding PHI information transmission, works with on-call web paging system including maintenance of schedules and engages multi-site emergency messaging via an IP based Informcast system. The Communications Rep has access to various resources to distribute accurate information. The Communications Rep is crucial in the event of an emergency or disaster. They are to respond to various alarms & notifications & send out communications accordingly & efficiently. They are responsible for dispatching for Transport, Translation Services, Biomed, EVS & POM. This is a key role not only in voice management but in centralized communications that are relevant to the overall hospital operations.
