Your opportunity

Director, Retail Managed Accounts Offer

We believe that, when done right, investing liberates people to create their own destiny. We are driven by our purpose to champion every client’s goals with passion and integrity.  We hire optimistic, results-oriented, curious, innovative, and adaptable people with the desire to help our clients and one another succeed.  As a company, we were established by Chuck 50 years ago to champion Main Street over Wall Street, and to help Americans transform themselves from earners to owners. Through advocacy and innovation, we work to make investing more affordable, accessible and understandable for all.

Our Organization:

Schwab’s Wealth & Advice Solutions (WAS) organization drives our strategy to create an integrated Wealth and Advice Solutions business. Within WAS, Investment Offers & Solutions (IOS) is responsible for managing our investment product marketplaces (e.g., Alternative Investments, Managed Accounts, Mutual Funds, ETFs). Our mission is to provide a positive experience for the Schwab clients that invest in these products, while growing a revenue stream which is vital to Schwab’s overall financial health.

Within IOS, Managed Accounts Solutions (MAS) is responsible for the end-to-end management of our managed investing solutions, primarily Separately Managed Accounts (SMAs). To do this, we design and implement a strategic vision, maintain a robust product offering, develop new tools and research for clients, deepen third-party and proprietary asset management relationships, and work effectively with partners to deliver a best-in-class SMA offering.

Our Opportunity:

As SMAs become an increasingly important investment vehicle, we are focused on improving our product line-up, platform and services related to SMAs. The Director will lead the team driving the overall vision and strategy for Retail SMAs, working on both long-term plans and daily operations. This includes making our offerings more modern and competitive, while aligning with strategy with growth and objectives of our Retail and Wealth Management businesses.

Reporting to the Managing Director of IOS, the Director will set strategy, lead key initiatives, and oversee the daily business of Schwab’s Retail SMA offering. This leader will develop the roadmap for investing in and improving the offer, drive the prioritization, and lead the implementation of critical projects to modernize the business. The role also includes managing risk, setting business goals, and measuring results against objectives. Leading and building a strong, high-performing team is core to the role, as the success of the organization depends on the talent, engagement, and collaboration of the team members.

Success in this role requires strong leadership across the company and with partners. The Director will work with both internal teams—like client services, operations, and compliance—and external partners, such as asset managers and technology vendors, to drive alignment and achieve shared goals. They should be proactive, detail-oriented, and able to lead large and complex projects independently.
