Job Description
The Production Worker (Grave Shift) operates on a bottling line in a syrup flavoring facility, performing hands-on tasks that ensure products are correctly filled, labeled, capped, and packaged. This role requires standing for extended periods, safely handling glass and plastic bottles, and lifting boxes of varying weights while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance with good manufacturing practices.
Responsibilities
- Work on the bottling line to support the filling of flavored syrup into glass and plastic bottles.
- Inspect bottles for correct labels, proper fill levels, overflow of syrup, and leaks to ensure consistent product quality.
- Verify that caps are applied correctly and securely on each bottle.
- Package bottles into boxes, ensuring accurate counts and proper arrangement for safe transport.
- Handle and move glass and plastic bottles carefully to prevent breakage and product loss.
- Lift and carry boxes of full and empty bottles, weighing up to 75 pounds, throughout the shift.
- Follow quality control procedures and good manufacturing practices (GMP and GDP) during all production and packaging activities.
- Assist with palletizing finished product, including stacking, organizing, and preparing pallets for shipment or storage.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in and around the production line.
- Monitor the production line for issues such as jams, mislabels, or packaging defects and promptly report or help resolve them.
- Collaborate with team members on the line to maintain steady production flow and meet production targets.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines, including proper use of personal protective equipment and safe lifting techniques.
- At least 2 years of food manufacturing experience, with consideration for candidates with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
- Ability to stand on feet for the duration of the grave shift while performing repetitive production and packaging tasks.
- Ability to lift and safely handle boxes weighing up to 75 pounds on a regular basis.
- Experience with quality control and inspection in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with good manufacturing practices (GMP) and good documentation practices (GDP).
- Hands-on experience with production and packaging processes in a manufacturing setting.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain focus on repetitive tasks while ensuring accuracy.
- Strong attention to detail when inspecting labels, fill levels, caps, and packaging.
- Commitment to working safely around production equipment, pallets, and materials.
- Previous production experience, particularly in bottling or packaging, is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical concepts is a plus for understanding and supporting production equipment.
- Comfort working with both glass and plastic containers in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a small team on a production line.
- Willingness to work a grave shift schedule and adapt to production demands.

Work Environment
This role is based in a production facility where flavored syrup is filled into bottles, capped, labeled, and packed on multiple active lines. Each line typically operates with 4–10 team members, and there are four lines running concurrently, creating a collaborative and fast-paced environment. The facility maintains a comfortable room temperature. Team members wear hair and beard nets and safety glasses as part of the standard dress code and safety requirements. Work involves standing for the entire grave shift, regularly lifting and moving boxes, and working around pallets and production equipment in a manufacturing setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Leandro, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
