Job Description
The Clinical Laboratory Scientist performs pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical phase testing of various complexities, including specialized tests and analysis in areas such as Hematology, Microbiology, Clinical Chemistry, Urinalysis, Immunohematology, Serology, Parasitology, and chemical and morphological examinations. The role involves obtaining data for diagnostic use and recording laboratory test results.
Responsibilities
- Perform and report test results for all clinical laboratory procedures, both automated and manual, without immediate review.
- Demonstrate proficiency, competency, and understanding of fundamental principles of clinical laboratory procedures with minimal supervision.
- Monitor and be accountable for test data, quality control, quality assurance, preventive maintenance, proficiency testing, and all operations related to laboratory testing procedures.
- Notify supervisory team of any irregularities or factors that may influence test results.
- Troubleshoot equipment and test methods.
- Monitor supplies and reagents, notifying appropriate parties when necessary.
- Perform clerical duties or phlebotomy on inpatients and outpatients, as needed.

- Ideally a Generalist license
- High School Education or GED required
Work Environment
This position involves working varied hours, including weekends, with 12-hour shifts. It is an on-call position created due to higher volume and the need for more coverage. Professional attire or scrubs are required. The schedule may include shifts during the weeks of 2/22-2/28, 3/1-3/7, and 3/8-3/14, and candidates must be available and committed to these dates. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $150.00 - $150.00/hr.
