Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic

San Martin, CA

Pay: $25-$34

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, adjusting, and repairing production equipment and electrical components. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance of our machinery through routine preventive maintenance and repairs.

Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair production equipment and electrical components.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems, determining the best solutions for correction.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure optimal machine performance.
  • Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, and replace filters, following maintenance checklists.
  • Replace faulty parts, electrical wires, motors, controls, and circuit boards as needed.
  • Dismantle equipment to remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Lubricate and clean parts and equipment to ensure proper operation.
  • Operate various hand and power tools to repair, grease, weld, cut, and change parts as assigned.
  • Review and comprehend blueprints, schematics, repair manuals, and parts catalog.
  • Operate production machines to understand machine capabilities.

Essential Skills

  • 5 years of maintenance experience.
  • Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanics, and electrical principles.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Ability to read and comprehend safety procedures, operating, and maintenance instructions.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Technical or vocational school certification preferred.
  • Capability to lift up to 65lbs and perform tasks in dusty, hot, and/or cold conditions.
  • Experience with heavy equipment and general labor.

Work Environment

This role involves working inside and outside, requiring the use of personal protective equipment such as earplugs, hard hats, safety boots/shoes, and protective glasses. Candidates will need to provide their own safety boots/shoes upon hire. The environment may be dusty, hot, or cold, and requires the use of fall protection equipment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Martin, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $34.00/hr.
