Schedule

• Sub Acute: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• ED: Start time between 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM (8-hour shift) with alternating weekends (either Saturday or Sunday, not both)

Job Description

ED Admitting / Sub Acute Admissions

Candidates will be cross-trained in both areas.

Day-to-Day Duties:

• Confirm patient insurance coverage and identify potential authorization needs for treatment
• Collect patient demographics and medical information to ensure appropriate account reimbursement
• Utilize EPIC for patient intake and updating/verifying demographics
• Authorize patients for beds
• Handle claims, request authorizations, and attach referrals
• Identify services requiring authorization and gather referral information
• Verify insurance and input correct options for pre-registration:
  • HMO vs. PPO
  • Medicare, Medicaid
• Collect co-pays and explain shared costs/patient financial responsibility
• Receive calls from case managers at other ministries or healthcare facilities
• Apply knowledge of medical terminology
• Collaborate with physician offices and ministries
• Support various departments at remote locations
• Provide excellent customer service to both internal staff and patients, in-person and over the phone

• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
