We are seeking a Junior to Mid‑Level CAD Drafter / Mechanical Designer to support our production and manufacturing workflow. This role is heavily focused on technical drafting, shop drawing accuracy, and design revisions, working closely with a sr. drafter as well as cross‑functional sales and project management teams.
This is an excellent opportunity for a detail‑oriented drafter who enjoys ownership over their work and wants to contribute meaningfully within a stable, family‑owned organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, edit, and review 2D shop drawings using AutoCAD
- Translate architectural plans, sketches, and redlines into clear, build‑ready drawings
- Revise drawings efficiently based on internal and external feedback
- Maintain drawing standards, accuracy, and proper version control
- Assist with material take‑offs and documentation to support manufacturing
- Partner with sales and project management to ensure drawings align with project scope and timelines
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 3 years of drafting experience
- bckgrnd in construction, fabrication, or manufacturing environments strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of construction documents and technical drawings
- Ability to work independently from markups, sketches, and established drafting standards
- Proficient in AutoCAD and familiar with 3D design tools
Additional Qualifications (Preferred)
- Experience with SolidWorks, mechanical drafting, and sheet metal design
- Familiarity with steel fabrication and structural/metal components
- Exposure to Revit, SketchUp, and MPanel is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving mindset

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Santa Ana, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00/hr.
