Medical Scheduler – Neuroscience Department
Location: 100% onsite in Sanford, CA
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (Includes two 15-minute breaks and one 30-minute lunch)
Pay: based on years of experience working in a healthcare call center role
About the Role
We are seeking a Patient Access Representative to join the Neuroscience department, supporting a high-volume call center environment. This role is essential in ensuring timely patient communication, referral management, and appointment coordination. You’ll be working alongside a collaborative team of New Patient Coordinators and Patient Administrative Specialists.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle high-volume inbound calls, provide general information, assist with scheduling, and respond to inquiries.
- Review, approve, and follow up on referral statuses with patients and providers.
- Coordinate appointments across departments including imaging and specialty care.
- Direct patients to appropriate clinical resources based on needs.
- Confirm upcoming appointments and ensure all necessary documentation is in place.
Top Skills Required
- Healthcare experience: 2–4 years (required)
- Call center experience: Comfortable handling 80–100 calls daily
- Referrals & Authorizations: Familiarity with processes and documentation
- EPIC experience: Preferred but not required
Additional Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to provide compassionate and professional support.
- Ability to manage multiple systems and high call volumes efficiently.
- Accuracy in handling patient data and logistics.
- Experience with EHR systems (e.g., Epic), Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Ability to resolve scheduling and insurance issues independently.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented clinical environment.
