Job Title: Facilities Maintenance TechnicianJob Description

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on a variety of facility systems. This role involves monitoring and troubleshooting Building Management Systems, supporting field troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, and maintaining accurate records using a Computerized Maintenance Management System.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on HVAC, boilers, pumps, air compressors, plumbing, and exhaust systems.
  • Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot the Building Management System for alarms, trends, and performance.
  • Support field troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in manufacturing, cleanroom, and office areas.
  • Assist in the operation and maintenance of facility utilities such as DI water, process gases, chilled/hot water systems, and compressed air.
  • Perform equipment startups and shutdowns, replace filters, lubricate moving parts, and calibrate meters or sensors.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using a Computerized Maintenance Management System.
  • Respond promptly to facility alarms, equipment failures, and emergency service requests.
  • Escort and oversee external contractors and vendors performing maintenance or repair work.
  • Follow all site safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout, PPE, and confined space entry requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
  • 2–5 years of hands-on experience in facilities maintenance or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of building systems including HVAC, boilers, chilled/hot water systems, and BMS operation.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and equipment manuals.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with tools, meters, and troubleshooting practices.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry, system monitoring, and online communication.
  • Experience in semiconductor, pharmaceutical, cleanroom, or high-tech manufacturing environments.
  • Proficiency with CMMS platforms (Maintenance Connection preferred).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • High school diploma required; technical trade school or associate degree preferred.
  • Relevant certifications such as EPA Refrigerant Handling, Forklift Operation, or Confined Space Entry.
  • Familiarity with TPM, LEAN, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Knowledge of energy conservation and sustainability best practices.

Work Environment

Work Monday through Friday on the day shift. Initial training hours are 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, transitioning to a 10:00 am to 7:30 pm schedule after training.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sunnyvale, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
