Job Title: Extruder Operator $19hr

Job Description

As an Extruder Operator, you will be responsible for setting up machines, monitoring the extrusion process, performing quality control checks, troubleshooting problems, and conducting routine maintenance and cleaning. This hands-on role requires skills in machine operation, problem-solving, and the ability to follow instructions accurately.

Responsibilities

  • Select and install dies, set up controls for temperature, pressure, and speed, and load raw materials into the machine.
  • Perform regular visual inspections and measurements of the products, test physical properties, and collect samples to verify quality.
  • Perform routine maintenance, clean equipment, replace worn parts like dies, and troubleshoot and make minor repairs to the machinery.
  • Track production data, complete required reports, and communicate issues to supervisors or other team members.
  • Mix raw materials, transfer materials between containers, and operate related equipment like mixers and grinding systems.

Essential Skills

  • Proficient in extrusion, production, and machine operation.
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot complex machinery.
  • Capability to read blueprints and understand technical specifications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Meticulous in monitoring and measuring to ensure product quality and consistency.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in production line management.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, lift and move heavy objects, and perform physical tasks such as bending, climbing, and twisting.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with other workers and supervisors.

Work Environment

The work environment is a machine shop that can be very dirty, as the product is made from coconut shells ground into a fine black carbon powder. The machines are not loud, but the presence of black charcoal can stain clothes.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Temecula, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
