Job Title: Systems Engineer
Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer with a strong background in systems modeling, requirements management, and radar systems engineering. The ideal candidate will bring advanced technical expertise, exceptional analytical skills, and a collaborative mindset to support complex defense and aerospace programs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, analyze, and maintain system requirements and baselines.
  • Create and review systems engineering artifacts, including requirements documents, design specifications, and process documentation.
  • Perform functional requirement parsing, derivation, allocation, and traceability.
  • Utilize Cameo Systems Modeler for system modeling and DOORS for requirements management.
  • Apply engineering software tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, Jira, and iRIS (or similar) to support system development and analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system integrity and performance.
  • Support radar systems engineering efforts, including design, integration, and testing.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes and methodologies.
Essential Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 9–13 years of relevant systems engineering experience.
  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • Advanced proficiency in Cameo Systems Modeler and DOORS.
  • Experience with engineering tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, Jira, and iRIS.
  • Strong understanding of requirements management and systems engineering principles.
  • Demonstrated experience in radar systems engineering.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Preferred Master’s degree in a related field.
  • Experience working in defense or aerospace environments.
  • Familiarity with MBSE (Model-Based Systems Engineering).
  • Experience in developing and reviewing systems engineering artifacts such as requirements, design, and process documents.
Work Environment

The position offers hybrid flexibility with a location near the airplane restaurant in South COS. The role involves working on the Ground Based Radar Maintenance and Sustainment Service (GMASS) program, which focuses on sustaining, protecting, and integrating mission systems related to ground-based radars. These radars are crucial for delivering resilient space capabilities, providing early warning during conflicts, and enhancing Space Domain Awareness by detecting, tracking, and defeating missile threats.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Colorado Springs, CO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $180000.00/hr.
