Job Description
The Financial Analyst plays a pivotal role in the success of the C&I Energy Solutions team. This position involves working closely with a highly experienced development team, collaborating with corporate sustainability leaders to develop energy solutions that align with the mission of achieving net zero emissions by 2040. The team is responsible for reviewing numerous project proposals each year, creating financial models, and analyzing various scenarios to ensure successful outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Understand project economics, cash flows, and returns, and model them effectively using Excel.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data by maintaining financial models, databases, and data collection processes.
- Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including executives, in a clear and persuasive manner.
- Collaborate with multiple teams and stakeholders to efficiently progress projects.
- Evaluate pricing strategies, discounts, and promotions to optimize profitability while remaining competitive.
- Use historical data and market trends to develop accurate sales forecasts.
- Analyze sales data, trends, and performance metrics to identify insights that drive sales and development strategies.
- Create regular reports and dashboards that summarize sales and development data for management and sales teams.
- Conduct market research to understand customer behavior, competitive landscape, and industry trends.
- Make data-driven recommendations to improve sales processes, product offerings, and new market entry.
Essential Skills
- Expertise in financial modeling and Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions like pivot tables and VLOOKUPS.
- 3+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A) experience, supporting large publicly traded companies
- Strong financial reporting and analysis skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
- Critical thinking and a curious mindset with a desire to learn.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Experience with data analysis and market research.
- Skills in process improvement and underwriting.
Work Environment
This position is part of the energy team based in Denver, serving as the link between the energy project team and corporate finance. The role involves creating financial models for energy projects and presenting them to the finance team for budgeting and approval. The work schedule includes two days in the office and three days remote, with a requirement of three days in the office initially for training purposes. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Denver, CO.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $48.07/hr.
