Substation Field Service Technician

Job Details

• Field Service Technicians will play a key role in assembling and maintaining electrical substations for industrial clients across the U.S.
• This hands-on position involves working with large mechanical components, using cranes and forklifts, and performing mechanical assembly and testing to ensure systems are ready for energization.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble and prepare electrical substations and transformers for operation.
• Unload, stage, and position components using cranes and forklifts.
• Perform mechanical assembly, bolting, and alignment of parts.
• Conduct testing to verify proper assembly and functionality.
• Collaborate with experienced technicians in both field and shop environments.

Skills & Qualifications

• Must have experience working with large substations or industrial equipment.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints.
• Experience with large mechanical components preferred.
• Industrial or commercial field tech experience

Schedule & Travel

• Travel: 2–3 weeks per month nationwide.
• Shop Time: 1–2 weeks per month in Golden, CO.
• Hours: Up to 70 hours/week while traveling; 40 hours/week in the shop.

Pay & Add Ons

• $45-$50/hr based on experience.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Golden, CO.

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
