Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist who will be responsible for performing various accounting and accounts receivable duties. This role requires a professional image, high attention to detail, strong communication, and customer service skills. You will work with 12 high-profile clients, each with unique needs, and manage their accounts receivable inquiries and issues.
Responsibilities
- Audit invoices to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Research and respond promptly to client and corporate inquiries.
- Efficiently handle credit card payments and credits, demonstrating knowledge of financial transactions.
- Adjust client accounts as needed and resolve any payment discrepancies.
- Ensure timely and accurate payment application with persistence and attention to detail.
- Generate clear and comprehensive client statements.
- Execute invoice billing with precision and collaboration between corporate and field operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to overall team success.
Essential Skills
- 1-3 years of experience in accounts receivable Or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- Strong research skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Excel, including formulas and spreadsheets.
- Excellent customer service skills and abilities.
- Professionalism and the ability to maintain a professional image.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma.
- ERP experience is a plus.
- Self-directed with the ability to handle tough situations.
- Curiosity and drive to understand discrepancies.
- Not easily overwhelmed.
- Degree is preferred but not required if experienced in AR.
Work Environment
The accounting department consists of 20 people, including AP, AR, and GL. Initially, you are required to work on-site in the DTC office until fully trained, approximately 30 days. Afterward, you may work from home one day a week, with the possibility of increasing to two days after six months. Wednesdays are mandatory on-site days. The team is tight-knit and values culture, participating in events such as Accounting Appreciation Week, competitions, and outings. The office is pet-friendly, so candidates should be comfortable with animals around.
