Job Title: SCADA Engineer
Job Description
The SCADA Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth operation and optimization of SCADA and ADMS systems for clients. This role includes conceptual design of systems, preparing performance specifications, executing detailed design and integration, and ongoing maintenance of these systems.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with teams to ensure effective operation of SCADA and ADMS systems.
- Design and develop conceptual systems and prepare performance specifications.
- Execute detailed design and integration processes.
- Maintain and optimize SCADA systems to ensure peak performance.
- Travel up to 25% of the year for short trips to client sites and military bases.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in SCADA software platforms such as Siemens WinCC, Wonderware, Survalent, SEL, and OSI.
- At least two years of experience with substation/power system distribution SCADA systems.
- Strong knowledge of industrial automation protocols such as Modbus, OPC, and DNP3.
- Understanding of network design and cybersecurity principles for SCADA systems.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a record that meets fleet policy requirements.
- Must be able to obtain Military Base Access Security Clearance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field.
- Five to eight years of experience as a SCADA/Automation/ADMS Engineer or similar role.
- Familiarity with PLC/RTU programming and configuration.
- Possession of a PE license is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication skills for interfacing with customers and team members.
- Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards is a plus.
Work Environment
The team comprises 35 engineers, typically divided into teams of 10 depending on the assigned military base or project. Office attendance is required on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with the flexibility for up to 25% travel to client sites outside Colorado, typically for 2-4 days a month. This role includes all-expenses-paid travel, bi-weekly pay, a short-term incentive program, and PTO accrual.
