Job Title: Procurement Specialist II
Job Description
We are seeking a Procurement Specialist II with a strong background in the Aerospace & Defense (A&D) industry, particularly within manufacturing or Research & Development (R&D) environments. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of FAR, DFAR, and/or NASA procurement regulations, as well as experience with price analysis, target pricing techniques, and procuring Custom Fab-to-Print commodities.
Responsibilities
- Leverage existing procurement experience in the Aerospace & Defense industry to manage purchasing processes.
- Utilize ERP systems, with SAP as a preferred platform, to streamline procurement operations.
- Interpret and understand engineering drawings, BOM structures, and technical specifications.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as Engineering, Quality, Material Program Managers, Planning, and Accounting to meet organizational needs.
- Ensure compliance with company quality standards when buying parts and resolve quality issues with suppliers.
- Set and maintain accurate item lead times in the system, holding suppliers accountable to their commitments and performance expectations.
- Apply knowledge of FAR and DFAR compliance in procurement activities.
- Manage vendor contracts and procurement processes effectively.
- Exhibit strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills to drive procurement processes from start to finish.
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and demonstrate self-motivation.
Essential Skills
- 3-5 years of ERP experience, preferably with SAP.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and BOM structures.
- Experience with mechanical/fabricated part drawings and technical specifications.
- Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong attention to detail, scheduling, and time management skills.
- Proficient communication skills, both verbal and written.
Work Environment
The work environment involves collaboration across multiple departments and requires a detail-oriented approach to managing procurement processes. The successful candidate will be measured against the 2026 Purchasing Team Goals and 1:1 Control Tower metrics based on procurements, deliveries, and trainings. The role demands excellent scheduling, time management, and communication skills to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic setting.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Lafayette, CO.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
