Job Description
As a Plant Controller, you will play a vital role in communicating financial performance effectively, including overseeing month-end closings, weekly pulses, and preparing quarterly forecasts and budgets. You will maximize financial performance through analysis, guidance, and accountability. Your expertise will help identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement in financial and operational areas, and you will develop and execute action plans to drive profitable growth. This position requires you to achieve committed financial results for key performance indicators such as manufacturing variances, operating income, cash flow, and capital investments. You will work closely with process business partners to enhance efficiency and lead budget and forecast processes for the Littleton Facility. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing financial acumen among finance and non-finance team members.
Responsibilities
- Communicate financial performance effectively, including month-end closing, weekly pulses, and preparation of quarterly forecasts and budgets.
- Maximize financial performance through analysis, guidance, and accountability.
- Identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement in financial and operational areas.
- Develop and execute action plans to drive profitable growth.
- Achieve committed financial results for KPIs including manufacturing variances, operating income, cash flow, and capital investments.
- Liaise with process business partners to enhance efficiency in fulfilling Plant Controller responsibilities.
- Lead budget and forecast processes for the Littleton Facility.
- Develop financial acumen among finance and non-finance team members.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in cost accounting, manufacturing, GAAP, KPI, forecasting, budgeting, SOX, corporate tax, and manufacturing accounting.
- Experience as a Cost Accountant.
- Management experience (direct and indirect).
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or MBA preferred.
- Proficiency in SAP and IFRS.
- 10+ years of experience in manufacturing finance.
- Experience in standard costing, budget management, and capital analysis and control.
- Strong communication skills at all organizational levels.
- Experience in a global, diverse matrixed organization.
- Ability to manage indirect reporting relationships effectively.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (or country equivalent) required.
- Experience with Lean concepts and tools preferred.
- Experience in an accounting & financial reporting function is a must.
- Solid understanding of corporate tax application particularly from an international or global organization standpoint.
- Experience working in a large international organization with specific experience consolidating international subsidiaries with multiple FX currencies.
- Deep understanding of accounting guidance (IFRS preferred) and the ability to effectively research critical accounting positions and financial statement reporting requirements.
- Expert communication skills to a wide range of individuals within the organization both verbally and written.
- Excellent report preparation and PowerPoint presentation skills.
- Strong computer knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Work Environment
This is an onsite role in Littleton, with some flexibility to work 1-2 days remotely down the line. You will have one direct report, a Senior Financial Analyst, who is also based in Littleton and requires some development as they are new to the role. The position involves overseeing all plant-related GAAP, SOX, and policy requirements, ensuring accurate financial records (P&L and BS).
