Job Description
The Production Associate assembles mechanical and electrical components, operates production machinery, and supports high-quality manufacturing output in a fast-paced industrial environment. This role follows detailed work instructions and blueprints, performs routine inspections, and collaborates closely with team members to meet daily production goals while maintaining a safe and organized workspace.
Responsibilities
- Assemble mechanical and electrical components in accordance with work instructions, blueprints, and specifications.
- Operate and monitor production machinery safely and efficiently to support continuous manufacturing operations.
- Perform routine quality checks to ensure products meet internal and customer standards.
- Adjust machine settings as needed to maintain optimal production output and product consistency.
- Inspect finished components for defects and promptly communicate issues or nonconformances to supervisors.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation in compliance with safety guidelines and housekeeping standards.
- Follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations at all times while working on the production floor.
- Accurately complete production and quality documentation, including logs, checklists, and reports.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to achieve daily production targets and support continuous improvement.
- Support cross-training efforts by learning to operate multiple machines and processes across the production line.
Essential Skills
- Strong attention to detail and a consistent commitment to product quality.
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, or schematics.
- Basic mechanical skills and familiarity with production tools and equipment.
- Experience with mechanical assembly using hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to operate production machinery and follow standard operating procedures.
- Previous experience in manufacturing or assembly environments.
- Ability to stand or walk for long periods and work effectively in a fast-paced industrial setting.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. safely and repeatedly as required by production tasks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in general production, machine operation, or general labor roles.
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with mechanical components and assemblies.
- Experience with inspection processes to identify defects or quality issues.
- Comfort using a variety of hand tools and power tools in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Speaking Spanish is a plus and can support communication on the production floor.

Work Environment
This role is based in a manufacturing facility with typical exposure to noise, chemicals, and machinery. The position requires standing or walking for extended periods and lifting up to 75 lbs. while working in a fast-paced production environment. Team members receive cross-training on multiple machines and processes across the production line, providing broad exposure to different areas of manufacturing.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Centerbrook, CT.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.00/hr.
