Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Coordinator to support construction phase administration for a public-sector project. This individual will play a critical role in overseeing field activities, maintaining project documentation, and ensuring alignment with contract requirements, schedule, budget, and quality standards.
Acting as the Owner’s on-site representative, this role serves as a key liaison between the Owner, design team, and contractor throughout construction and closeout.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide full construction phase support from Notice to Proceed through final closeout, including punch list and warranty coordination
- Perform regular site walkthroughs to monitor progress and ensure compliance with contract documents, codes, and approved submittals
- Maintain accurate and organized project documentation, including daily reports, RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, schedules, and cost tracking
- Coordinate and facilitate project meetings, including pre-construction and weekly progress meetings, and distribute detailed meeting minutes
- Review and track project schedules, including baseline and update schedules, identifying risks, delays, and critical path impacts
- Prepare schedule narratives with clear analysis and recommended corrective actions
- Track project costs and support budget monitoring efforts
- Review contractor payment applications, verify work completed, and provide payment recommendations
- Analyze and evaluate change orders for scope, cost, and schedule impact; provide detailed recommendations
- Support the administration of claims and disputes through documentation review and analysis
- Monitor construction quality and safety compliance, documenting deficiencies and tracking resolution
- Coordinate inspections, testing, and turnover activities, including support for occupancy certifications
- Manage project closeout, including collection and review of O&M manuals, warranties, and record drawings
Qualifications
- Experience in construction administration, project coordination, or similar role within the AEC industry
- Strong understanding of construction documents, project lifecycle, and field coordination
- Experience managing RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, and project documentation
- Ability to review and analyze project schedules and change orders with a critical eye
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting public-sector or large-scale commercial construction projects
- Familiarity with project management tools such as PM Web or similar platforms
Work Environment
This is an on-site role based at a project field office, with standard working hours of approximately 7:30 AM to 3:30/4:00 PM. The position involves daily interaction with construction teams and stakeholders in an active job site environment.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Hartford, CT.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
