Job Title: Production OperatorJob Description

The Production Operator is responsible for performing all operations necessary to manufacture long fiber line products. This includes preparing premix, loading and running the long fiber line, staging materials, packaging finished products, and performing changeovers. Operators will stage raw materials, mix, grind, screen, blend, and package products as required. Additionally, they will perform process testing and control to ensure products meet specifications, identify and address defects or process upsets, maintain work area cleanliness, and assist in equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare premix and load long fiber line for operation.
  • Stage, mix, grind, screen, blend, and package materials.
  • Conduct process testing and control to meet specifications.
  • Identify and address defects, operating difficulties, or process upsets.
  • Record, log, and chart product and process control records.
  • Provide support throughout the Long Fiber area as needed.
  • Set up, disassemble, and clean process equipment for material changeover.
  • Assist in repair and replacement of process equipment components.
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
  • Load and unload trucks as necessary.
  • Perform warehouse functions as needed.
  • Observe safety precautions and good manufacturing practices.
  • Train other operators as assigned.
  • Implement and maintain 5S systems, including sorting, straightening, cleaning, and inspection activities.
  • Perform other related job duties as necessary.
Essential Skills
  • At least one year of manufacturing or operating experience.
  • Comfortable with lifting or moving materials up to 60 lbs.
  • Strong attention to detail, especially when setting up machines.
  • Comfortable with repetitive tasks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Familiarity with operating forklifts.
  • Experience in general production or construction environments.
  • Computer skills are a plus.

Work Environment

The work environment involves somewhat disagreeable conditions, with potential exposure to elements like oil, dirt, dust, and grime. The position requires working the 2nd shift from 3 PM to 11:30 PM. Employees are expected to maintain a clean and orderly workspace following good manufacturing and housekeeping practices.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Manchester, CT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $31.85 - $31.85/hr.
