Job Description

As a Fabrication Technician, you will execute work orders to process and fabricate germanium and silicon-based crystals into functional radiation detection diodes. This role involves handling acids and other chemicals, as well as using and performing routine maintenance of evaporators, sputtering machines, and other systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct final surface preparation of germanium crystals.
• Perform final surface preparation of silicon elements.
• Operate ion implanter and vacuum deposition equipment.
• Conduct routine equipment maintenance.
• Test finished crystals to ensure quality and functionality.
• Troubleshoot process problems as they arise.
• Train junior technicians in processing techniques when necessary.
