Job Description

As an Employee Benefits Account Manager, you will serve as the primary contact for specific employee benefits accounts, addressing service requests and issues. You will manage the renewal process, which includes organizing internal and external pre-renewal strategy meetings, directing the marketing process, and assisting in the preparation of renewal proposals. Additionally, you will establish, implement, and manage service timelines to meet client expectations, effectively communicate with clients and their employees on claims, enrollment, or billing issues, and consult with clients on compliance requirements. Staying up-to-date with industry changes and ensuring the Agent Management System is current is essential. Collaboration with Advisors and team members to provide benefit guides, open enrollment materials, and proposals is also required.


Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact for employee benefits accounts for service requests and issues.
  • Manage the renewal process including pre-renewal strategy meetings, marketing process, and renewal proposal preparation.
  • Establish, implement, and manage service timelines to meet client expectations.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and their employees on claims, enrollment, or billing issues.
  • Consult with clients on compliance requirements including ACA, Annual Notices, SPDs, and 5500s.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry changes.
  • Ensure the Agent Management System is current.
  • Collaborate with Advisors and team members to provide benefit guides, open enrollment materials, proposals, and other resources.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Essential Skills

  • Extensive knowledge of carrier, state, and federal guidelines.
  • Project management and delegation skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Life and Health Insurance License.
  • Strong work ethic, including timely follow-up, team orientation, proactivity, detail-oriented, and dependability.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining open communication with the team.
  • Self-motivation.
  • Organizational and workload prioritization skills.
  • Problem-solving and negotiation skills.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) with all levels, from employees to the CEO.

Work Environment

This position is fully onsite in Southington. The work environment includes a modern office with various amenities including gym. The work schedule is flexible within the hours of 7 AM to 6 PM.
