Job Description
As a valued member of the patient care team, you will assist healthcare providers and nursing staff with daily office duties in an outpatient setting. This role is integral to ensuring efficient patient care and seamless operation of the medical office.
Responsibilities
- Perform specific duties that support patient care, including taking vitals and client intake.
- Room patients and assist with their preparation for examinations.
- Document patient information accurately and efficiently.
- Utilize the Epic electronic health record system to maintain patient records.
- Certification with AAMA or ARMA is mandatory.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
- Proficient in medical assisting, patient care, and electronic health records.
- Strong communication skills and flexibility.
- Medical Assistant Certification is required.
- Specialty experience and knowledge of medical terminology are a plus.
- A Medical Assistant diploma is needed within 90 days of employment.
- License not required but experience is preferred.
The position is based at 40 Temple Street, New Haven, CT, as part of the Yale Digestive team. The work schedule is flexible, requiring availability from 7:00 AM to 5:45 PM, totaling 37.5 hours per week. The role may require staying until around 6:00 PM on some days. This is a Contract position based out of New Haven, CT.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $26.00/hr.
