P osition Summary
The Material Handler is responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant movement of packaging materials, finished goods, work-in-process materials, and scrap/recycle materials throughout the facility. This role supports production and warehouse operations by ensuring accurate material flow, inventory control, and adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Compensation and Benefits
The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Connecticut is $15.85-$23.77.

Job Description: Second Shift Material Handler

P osition Summary
The Material Handler is responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant movement of packaging materials, finished goods, work-in-process materials, and scrap/recycle materials throughout the facility. This role supports production and warehouse operations by ensuring accurate material flow, inventory control, and adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Material Movement & Warehouse Operations
- Move raw materials, parts, work-in-process, and finished goods to designated areas using appropriate equipment and PPE.
- Store and issue packaging materials to support production and shipping requirements.
- Wrap, strap, and prepare skids for safe storage and transportation.
- Move scrap and recyclable materials to appropriate disposal or recycling areas.
- Perform inventory transactions (IC and/or IT) and maintain accurate material tracking within systems.
- Conduct cycle counts of raw materials, parts, and work-in-process inventory as required .
- Report inventory discrepancies promptly to supervision.
- Observe all plant, EHS, and safety rules and report unsafe conditions or equipment issues , including completing daily PIV safety checklist .
- May require the h andl ing of hazardous materials and waste in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and audit-ready warehouse in accordance with 5S standards.
- Communicate with supervision regarding safety concerns, equipment issues, or operational challenges.
- Provide support if needed during manpower shortages or high-volume workload periods.
- Perform additional duties or training assignments as directed by leadership.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent .
- 1+ years of experience required
- Basic math and reading skills .
- Basic inventory and cycle counting knowledge.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in a warehouse and/ or manufacturing environment.
