Job Title: Insurance Collector
Job Description
The insurance collector is responsible for monitoring accounts to determine the timeliness of payment and collection. This position works closely with the billing team and collections supervisor to ensure effective management of accounts.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and resolve dashboard for claim kick-out edits.
- Manage accounts receivable through system modules and reports.
- Resubmit, appeal, and follow up on unpaid or incorrectly processed claims.
- Answer inbound calls for insurance-specific inquiries.
- Collect on insurance carrier accounts.
- Assist with process improvement for greater claims resolution.
- Ensure the quality and integrity of work on assigned tasks.
Essential Skills
- Medical billing and customer service expertise.
- Experience in payment posting and accounts receivable.
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance claims.
- Familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT codes.
- Ability to navigate insurance websites such as Availity and read EOBs.
- Understanding of claims denials and appeals processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
- 1-2 years of medical billing experience.
- Experience in medical collections, particularly in physical therapy, DME, and workers' compensation claims, is advantageous.
- Knowledge of CPT/modifiers and ICD-9/ICD-10 codes/modifiers.
- Experience in EMR systems preferred.

Compensation:$52000
