Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician
Job Description
The Facilities Technician will be responsible for performing a variety of work including the preventative maintenance and assistance in repair of building and grounds in assigned areas. This role requires expertise in general plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and HVAC systems within a modern facility with up-to-date systems.
Responsibilities
- Perform general plumbing tasks such as changing shower heads, sinks, and drains.
- Conduct general carpentry work, including using tools to repair beds and doors.
- Handle general electrical tasks like replacing lamps and bulbs and tracing electrical lines.
- Monitor and troubleshoot HVAC systems, including cleaning vents and handling minor issues.
- Utilize technology efficiently, including using iPads, email, and motorized blinds.
- Maintain strong customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrate initiative by proactively addressing maintenance issues and completing work orders.
Essential Skills
- Strong technical experience in building maintenance.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs on a daily basis.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and iPads for work order systems.
- Experience with changing equipment, motors, and sensors.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 6+ months of building maintenance experience within apartment complexes or hotels.
- Previous experience in a customer-focused environment, such as hotels or corporate facilities.
- Familiarity with rooftop HVAC units and VAV (Variable Air Volume) Boxes.
- Experience in residential and/or contractor work.

Work Environment
Work shifts from Tuesday to Saturday or Sunday to Thursday, with hours from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM or 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Must be open to driving between two locations, with primary work at one facility and cross-training at a second facility when needed.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Washington, DC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr.
