Job Title: Jr Level Structural Designer
Job DescriptionJoin a small and growing engineering and consulting firm that provides a full range of structural engineering and consulting services for a variety of project types. The firm specializes in structural design, forensic engineering, condition assessments, feasibility studies, and cost estimates. The projects include community centers, educational facilities, parking garages, cultural centers, offices, and airport terminals. The company excels in producing output in both BIM and traditional CADD formats, offering expertise in traditional structural analysis and advanced dynamic modeling of buildings and structures.
Responsibilities
- Utilize Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD software with a focus on structural engineering design.
- Edit and manipulate REVIT families and their parameters.
- Set up new projects independently and link outside models into structural models.
- Extract model elements such as grid lines and project levels for use in the structural model.
- Assist in the preparation of construction contract documents, plans, and reports.
- Conduct structural engineering analyses and design for projects of all sizes.
- Work on several projects concurrently.
- Perform calculations using company standard software.
- Communicate effectively with strong interpersonal skills.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD software.
- Experience with structural analysis and design.
- Ability to edit and manipulate REVIT families.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in residential or commercial project design.
- Ability to take on design projects with oversight.
- Experience in structural steel design.
Work Environment
The position is based in an office located in Fairfax. The role primarily involves design work with occasional opportunities to visit project sites. The company offers a supportive environment where you will have the chance to work closely with the owner, gaining valuable experience.
