Job Description
Join our Construction Management team as a Construction Inspector, where you will be an integral part of field operations, supporting the delivery of Municipal Water/Wastewater Infrastructure projects. You will operate entirely in the field, traveling throughout the DC/VA area, meeting homeowners, and ensuring projects are constructed according to specifications. This role is perfect for individuals with a construction background who are comfortable without a local office base and enjoy dynamic, on-the-go work environments.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and observe construction projects to ensure they are built according to the provided plans and specifications.
- Identify unforeseen conditions and communicate them to senior supervising construction staff.
- Maintain accurate field notes and daily reports while tracking schedule progress for the project.
- Perform basic estimating tasks.
- Acquire field information to aid in project design.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with design divisions, construction contractors, and sub-contractors.
- Demonstrate skills and judgment to inspect portions of projects under the supervision of senior construction staff, and provide supervision to less experienced inspectors.
- 1 to 3 years of inspection experience.
- Experience working on horizontal or civil construction projects.
- Familiarity with construction, wet utility, and wastewater projects.
- A good attitude and willingness to work fully out of a vehicle while traveling the local market (DMV area).
This role is full-time, on-site, and on the road with no office reporting required. The individual will be based in the DMV area, with leadership based in Chicago, Illinois. The position offers competitive pay above market value for junior and lower-level inspectors.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Washington, DC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
