Job Title: Mechanical Assembler
Job Description
Join our team as a Mechanical Assembler, where you will play a crucial role in constructing mechanical support assemblies. You will utilize your skills to assemble a variety of mechanical units, ensuring that they meet the specified standards and quality. This role involves working with engineering instructions at designated workstations, using an array of hand and power tools.
Responsibilities
- Perform all functions, excluding welding, in each station and feeder area in the assigned department.
- Flex to other workstations and assembly lines as needed.
- Assemble mechanical support assemblies to specifications.
- Identify and assemble all parts accurately.
- Practice and sustain 5S methods.
- Understand material ordering systems.
- Follow proper sealing procedures for all products.
- Read and interpret motor sizes and data plates.
- Understand plumbing and electrical components of units.
- Work safely from ladders up to 20 feet in height.
- Familiarize with knockdown packing and crating processes.
- Install special accessories on units, understanding their function and installation.
- Adhere to ISO procedures, policies, and instructions to ensure quality.
- Mentor others and promote LEAN principles.
- Contribute to improving safety performance and resolving safety issues.
- Help achieve departmental safety goals, including reporting near misses and meeting safety metrics.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

- Ability to understand bills of material.

- Proficiency in using simple math and basic hand-held measuring tools.
- Ability to understand and react to job schedules.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in a construction or mechanical background within a manufacturing facility.
- Comfortable using hand, power, and air tools.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and tape measures.
- Mechanically inclined and adaptable to change.
- Maintain regular attendance and take appropriate safety precautions.
Work Environment
The role is based in a manufacturing facility with a loud noise level, requiring hearing protection. The majority of work is conducted indoors, although large bay doors may expose you to weather conditions. Housekeeping is performed per shift, and the work environment can be dirty. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE), such as steel or composite toe boots, earplugs, safety glasses/goggles, gloves, and arm shields, is required and provided where necessary.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milford, DE.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.66 - $19.66/hr.
