Aerotek is hiring for a Shipper at a manufacturing facility in New Castle, DE.

Job Description

The Shipper oversees all outbound shipments for a manufacturing facility, ensuring orders are picked, packed, documented, and dispatched accurately and on time. This role blends administrative and operational responsibilities, requiring high attention to detail, strong time management, and proficiency with computer programs.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prioritize, and execute daily outbound shipments to meet cutoffs and customer delivery commitments.
• Pick, pack, label, and stage orders in accordance with customer specifications and internal SOPs.
• Verify product quantities, lot numbers, packaging, and condition prior to shipment.
• Generate and maintain shipping documentation, including BOLs, packing lists, shipping labels, ASN details, and certificates.
• Use email, Excel, and shipping software to manage shipments and records, ensuring documentation accuracy and retention.
• Schedule pickups and coordinate with carriers, brokers, and internal teams.
• Proactively communicate delays, exceptions, or discrepancies and drive timely resolution.
• Adhere to shipping SOPs, customer routing guides, and packaging standards.
• Support audits by maintaining clean, complete records and traceability.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely.
• Perform loading/unloading, palletizing, stretch-wrapping, labeling, and staging.
• Assist with cycle counts and inventory accuracy related to outbound shipments.
• Track and report KPIs, identifying process improvements to reduce errors and enhance customer satisfaction.

Essential Skills

• 1–3 years of experience in shipping, distribution, or warehouse operations (manufacturing preferred).
• Proficient with email and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with carrier portals, shipping software, and WMS/TMS/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain.
• Strong time management, attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary or logistics coursework is a plus.

Work Environment

The position is located in a manufacturing facility's shipping area, which is non-temperature controlled but comfortable and organized. Expect a hands-on role with a focus on safety and efficiency.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Castle, DE.

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
