Job Description
The back office float medical assistant will perform quality team-based patient care under the direct supervision of a clinician for both clinical and administrative functions to promote health and wellness in a safe and friendly environment. The role supports clinician and care management teams in assessing, maintaining chronic disease management, examining, and treating the patient population. The medical assistant is responsible for performing all laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks.
Responsibilities
- Provide quality team-based patient care under the supervision of a clinician.
- Assist in both clinical and administrative functions to promote health and wellness.
- Support clinician and care management teams in assessing and maintaining chronic disease management.
- Examine and treat the patient population.
- Perform all laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks.
Essential Skills
- High school diploma required.
- Medical Assistant diploma OR Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) OR 3 years of Medical Assistant experience.
- Phlebotomy experience required.
- Ability to take vitals, with manual vitals preferred.
- Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Active driver's license required.
- Knowledge of laboratory quality control requirements.
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
- Knowledge of universal precaution procedures in medical safety practices.
- Ability to communicate and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public.
- Ability to assess emergencies and act accordingly.
- Flexibility to float from one location to another as patient queue demands.
- Must be independent, responsible, and organized.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with TriMed EMR preferred.
Work Environment
100% onsite in a medical office setting. The role requires floating between locations in Aventura, North Miami, Ives Estates, Skylake, and Miami Beach, FL. The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with every other Saturday from 7:45 am to 12:00 pm. Week 1 consists of 42.5 hours, and Week 2 consists of 46.75 hours.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Aventura, FL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30000.00 - $40000.00/yr.
