Job Title: Structures EngineerJob Description

We are seeking a skilled Structures Engineer to support the development of weight-optimized, compliant airworthy components and structural assemblies. This role requires performing structural analysis of primary and secondary structures and systems, generating CAD drawings, and supporting the manufacturing and assembly of components. The ideal candidate will have experience in technical problem-solving, team leadership, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Support the development of weight-optimized, compliant airworthy components and structural assemblies.
  • Perform structural analysis of primary and secondary structures and systems.
  • Independently develop technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
  • Perform detailed 3D designs; generate CAD drawings and related documents.
  • Create, review, and approve drawings, structural substantiation reports, and other engineering materials.
  • Plan and organize time to work productively and efficiently while adjusting to multiple demands.
  • Assume ownership of tasks and drive to closure quickly and efficiently.
  • Manage and track multiple priorities while maintaining a focus towards common project goals.
  • Document and troubleshoot component anomalies.
  • Provide technical oversight and mentorship to staff.
  • Participate and present in internal and external design reviews.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering.
  • 10-20 years of direct Engineering design experience in the spacecraft or aerospace industry.
  • 5-10 years of experience with classical hand stress analysis methods.
  • Proficiency in performing advanced stress analysis using NASTRAN and finite element modeling.
  • Excellent communication skills, fluent in English (spoken and written).
  • Proficiency with standard PC desktop applications, including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Teams.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • 5 years of experience with CAD Software (preferably SOLIDWORKS) with understanding of drafting standards (ASME Y14.100).
  • 10 years of experience with detailed FEA methods and/or NASTRAN (FEMAP) finite element modeling.
  • Experience with composites (fiberglass/carbon fiber), honeycomb, and solid laminate construction.
  • Experience with fracture mechanics.
  • 5 years of experience with government and FAA regulations and their impact on conformity and compliance.
  • Experience testing aerospace components/assemblies to validate conformance.
  • Design experience with sensors (optical/RF/Radar), avionics, and other complex kinematic systems.
  • Working knowledge of applicable manufacturing processes such as machining, finishing, and rapid prototyping.
  • Experience using test instrumentation and control components.
Work Environment

This position requires working onsite from Monday to Friday. The role involves collaboration with engineering personnel to interpret and correlate test results, and provides an opportunity to work with advanced aerospace technologies.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brooksville, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $140.00 - $150.00/hr.
