Job Title: Remote Structural Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced professional engineer with FAA delegation authority to perform a comprehensive audit of aircraft structural data. This individual will validate design, analysis, and test data to ensure compliance with airworthiness requirements. The role is critical in confirming that aircraft designs meet certification requirements and are structurally sound, maintainable, and safe for flight.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed audits of design, test data, and analysis.
  • Evaluate non-linear finite element models (FEM) and assess for correct solver parameters, material models, and assumptions.
  • Review analytical models and ensure consistency with engineering drawings.
  • Validate compliance findings against the provided basis of certification.
  • Perform hand calculations to verify key results and confirm model validity and accuracy.
  • Deliver a formal audit report detailing findings, errors, and recommendations.
  • Stand by audit conclusions and support regulatory review processes.

Essential Skills

  • U.S. or Canadian citizenship.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in aircraft structural engineering with progressive roles in design, analysis, and compliance.
  • FAA DER or equivalent delegation status (Structures).
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks, MS Office (Excel, Word), and MathCAD.
  • Expertise in structural analysis and non-linear finite element modeling.
  • Knowledge of airworthiness certification and compliance demonstration.
  • Familiarity with aircraft materials, fatigue life, and maintenance planning.
  • Experience leading technical teams and mentoring engineers.
  • Ability to assign and review work for compliance and quality.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Preferred titles or backgrounds include Lead Engineer, Deputy Chief Engineer, Technical Manager, or FAA DER (Structures).

Work Environment

The position offers flexibility with hours from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM in your time zone. It can be a remote or on-site role in the U.S. or Canada, allowing you to work closely with the president of the company. This opportunity can be structured as either a contract or a full-time position.


Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Brooksville, Florida.
