We are seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to oversee the bi-weekly payroll process, ensuring accurate payment processing, expenses, and deductions management. This role involves uploading records, processing deductions, retroactive increases, and managing various payroll calculations and garnishments. You will assist in payroll tax processing, ensuring timely payments of all federal, state, local, and provincial taxes, including CPP, EI, and Workers’ Compensation.
Responsibilities
- Oversee bi-weekly payroll and ensure accurate payment processing.
- Manage expenses and deductions within the payroll system.
- Upload records and process retroactive increases.
- Handle payroll calculations across various pay cycles.
- Process garnishments effectively.
- Assist in end-of-month payroll tax processing.
- Ensure timely and accurate payments of all federal, state, local, and provincial withholding and unemployment taxes.
- Assist with internal and external payroll tax audits.
- Contribute to project-based work during implementation projects and software updates, including running mock payrolls and creating reports.
Essential Skills
- 5+ years of payroll experience.
- Proficiency in mid-large ERP systems.
- Intermediate Excel skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- CPP or FCP certification preferred.
Work Environment
The role is primarily on-site, offering an opportunity to work with a key employer in the Tampa Bay area. It offers a chance to be part of a close-knit team. On-site training is provided, and if you demonstrate the ability to work independently, there may be opportunities for remote work.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Clearwater, FL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
