Mechanical Design Engineer (Entry-Level / Junior) – Siemens NX
Overview
The Mechanical Design Engineer will support the
development, modeling, and documentation of mechanical components and
assemblies using Siemens NX. This role is ideal for early‑career engineers who
are eager to apply their academic knowledge, grow technical skills, and
contribute to real-world product development in a collaborative engineering
environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Create 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings in Siemens NX following internal standards and best practices.
- Support senior engineers in the design and development of mechanical components, fixtures, and systems.
- Perform basic engineering calculations to support design decisions.
- Participate in design reviews, incorporate feedback, and update models/drawings accordingly.
- Assist in generating Bills of Materials (BOMs) and maintaining accurate design documentation.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including manufacturing, quality, and procurement.
- Conduct tolerance stack-ups and apply GD&T principles under guidance.
- Support prototype builds and testing activities as needed.
- Follow engineering change processes and maintain version control of design files.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
- Hands-on experience with Siemens NX (academic or internship experience acceptable).
- Understanding of mechanical design fundamentals, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and apply basic GD&T concepts.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and willingness to learn in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Internship or project experience involving CAD modeling or product design.
- Familiarity with PLM systems (e.g., Teamcenter) is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of FEA tools or simulation modules within NX.
This is a Contract position based out of Cocoa, FL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
