Job Title: Firmware Engineer

Job Description

Join a dynamic and innovative team in Ft Lauderdale, FL, as a Firmware Engineer. Engage in developing cutting-edge technology used by utility companies. Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to create low-level firmware for a new communication product. This role involves developing firmware from scratch and enhancing existing software.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop firmware for embedded systems.
• Collaborate with engineers to transition products from prototype to production.
• Conduct research and development for new products.
• Perform verification testing and write documentation.
• Implement communication protocols.
• Support internal and external manufacturing efforts for product quality control and setup.
• Debug and identify root causes of failures, implementing solutions for firmware integration.

Essential Skills

• 3+ years of experience in firmware development.
• Proficiency in C/C++ programming.
• Experience developing firmware from scratch.
• Experience with various microcontrollers, with STM32 being highly preferred.
• Experience with FreeRTOS or similar operating systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Knowledge of I2C and Octospy.
• Experience with Jenkins.
• Experience with board bring-up (strongly desired).
• Familiarity with Python or similar scripting languages.
• Experience with Linux.
• Understanding of IoT and communication protocols, with a preference for Wi-Fi.

Work Environment

Work in a brand new, state-of-the-art facility in Ft Lauderdale. This role offers a flexible work arrangement, with partial onsite work when necessary and primarily remote work. You will join a vibrant and collaborative software team of 16 members, with additional support from an outsourced team in India. The team is known for its upbeat culture and engaging group activities.
