Electronics Assembler

Job Description

  • With moderate supervision, the Electronics Assembler will perform basic and routine electronic and mechanical assembly operations on components, printed circuit boards, and subassemblies in accordance with established standards. This role requires positioning and aligning parts in specified relationships using visual aids and verbal and/or written instructions, and securing parts with hand or power tools. The assembler will mount assembled components on chassis, panels, or circuit boards, and route wiring and cabling through assembly to terminals according to color codes, ensuring proper electrical connections through soldering or wire wrapping.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic and routine electronic and mechanical assembly operations.
  • Position and align parts according to specified relationships using visual aids and instructions.
  • Use hand or power tools to secure parts.
  • Mount assembled components on chassis, panels, or circuit boards.
  • Route wiring and cabling through assembly to terminals according to color codes.
  • Solder or wrap wire around terminals to provide electrical connections.

Essential Skills

  • 5+ years of recent electronics assembly experience including PCB/circuit cards and wire assembly/harnesses.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools such as strippers, crimpers, wire cutters, screwdrivers, torque tools, and basic hand tools.
  • Ability to solder using through-hole and surface mount techniques.
  • Capability to follow work instructions and schematics.
  • Experience in manufacturing environments.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of assembly experience is preferred.
  • Prior or current IPC certification experience is desirable.
  • Board coating experience is a plus.

Work Environment

The role is based in an office setting with workbenches equipped with overhead lighting, tools, and materials for assembly. The work schedule follows a 9/80 format, with working hours from 7-5 on most days and every other Friday off. Availability on off Fridays and weekends is possible but not mandatory at this time.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of FORT WALTON BEACH, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $21.00/hr.
