Job Title: Technical Writer
Job Description

In this role, you will interpret and analyze engineering, reliability, and maintainability data to develop comprehensive support solutions and products. You will provide recommendations on product supportability, establish operation maintenance tasks, and develop support systems to achieve the necessary requirements. Additionally, you will identify and analyze logistics support candidates and determine spares provisioning requirements, writing and maintaining technical documentation for operating, testing, inspecting, and maintaining aircraft systems and components.


Responsibilities
  • Develop multiple publication elements for all levels of maintenance for fielded equipment, minor systems, or multiple subsystems.
  • Research and evaluate technical source data and specifications.
  • Develop and maintain technical publication elements, including theory of operations, testing, troubleshooting procedures, illustrated parts breakdown, removal and installation procedures, and schematic diagrams.
  • Collect, research, and analyze source data, validating it based on predefined assumptions.
  • Estimate the impact of changes to publication elements and update manuals accordingly.
  • Participate in preparing technical documentation for operating, testing, and maintaining aircraft systems and components.
  • Support reviewing aircraft and fleet operational performance, reliability, and availability.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in using and developing AWACS Technical Data from engineering source data.
  • Experience with applications and authoring tools such as Arbortext, Adobe Pro X, Excel, Word, CITRIX, REDARS, ADO, and other related software applications.
  • Strong knowledge of Communications Systems, with additional experience in Mission Systems and Avionics Systems.
  • Bachelor's degree and typically 3 or more years of related work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Advanced education or equivalent work experience in related fields.
  • Experience in creating and updating technical manuals for fielded equipment.
Work Environment

The work environment involves developing technical documentation for complex systems, requiring proficiency with specific software tools and systems knowledge. The role demands a structured approach to writing and the ability to work collaboratively with engineers and other technical experts. The position may involve working in a collaborative setting and using internal tools for document management and development.

This is a Contract position based out of Fort Walton Beach, Florida.
