Job Title: Lead Fire Alarm Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Fire Alarm Technician with strong experience in advanced troubleshooting, diagnostics, and system analysis. This hands-on and technical role focuses on resolving complex fire alarm system issues, leading field troubleshooting efforts, and serving as the go-to expert for inspections, service calls, and code compliance challenges across commercial and industrial facilities in South Florida. This position requires deep knowledge of FASA, BASA, NFPA 72, and AHJ requirements, and is ideal for a technician who enjoys problem-solving, fault isolation, and fixing systems others can’t.
Responsibilities
- Perform complex troubleshooting and diagnostics of fire alarm systems experiencing faults, intermittent issues, ground faults, communication failures, and code deficiencies.
- Conduct in-depth system analysis during FASA and BASA inspections, identifying deficiencies and corrective actions.
- Troubleshoot addressable and conventional fire alarm systems, including panels, devices, circuits, NACs, SLCs, power supplies, and networked systems.
- Diagnose inspection failures and work directly with AHJs to resolve compliance issues.
- Respond to advanced service calls where root-cause analysis is required.
- Support and mentor technicians by guiding troubleshooting methodology and best practices.
- Review system drawings, sequences of operation, and inspection reports to isolate issues efficiently.
- Perform verification testing after repairs to ensure full system functionality and compliance.
- Coordinate with project managers, inspectors, and customers to explain issues, solutions, and corrective actions clearly.
- Complete detailed service reports, deficiency lists, and inspection documentation.
- Ensure all work complies with NFPA 72, Florida Fire Code, FASA/BASA standards, and local AHJ requirements.
- Maintain safety standards and OSHA compliance on all job sites.
Essential Skills
- FASA and BASA Certification
- Advanced knowledge of NFPA 72, Florida Fire Code, and AHJ inspection processes
- Strong diagnostic skills for electrical, programming, and system communication issues
- Experience with commercial and industrial fire alarm systems
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, riser diagrams, sequences of operation, and inspection reports
- Valid Florida driver’s license and clean driving record
- Strong communication skills when dealing with inspectors, customers, and internal teams
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- NICET Fire Alarm Systems (Level II–IV preferred)
- Florida Fire Alarm Contractor License or relevant state certification
- Manufacturer certifications (Notifier, Fire-Lite, etc.)
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30

Work Environment

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Hollywood, FL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
