Safety Specialist Needed on Jacksonville's Northside

Pay: $25 - $27 per hour

Shift: Wednesday - Saturday from 6pm - 4:30am 40 hours per week

Description

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Possess a thorough understanding of local/regional and federal regulations and company policy.

- Provide guidance and oversight to ensure compliance to all applicable WHS Policies.

- Measure site’s performance against published requirements in WHS policies. For all deficiencies, identify a plan for the site to implement and fix all identified deficiencies. Drive accountability for the plan

- Analyze WHS metrics and review incident trends to justify the allocation of appropriate resources to areas where the WHS risk is highest.

- Perform frequent site WHS audits to identify all non-compliant equipment and/or processes at the site. Implement solutions to eliminate exposure to these risks and prevent injury at other sites. Review all changes to ensure new equipment and process are compliant.

- Audit recordkeeping practices and entries to ensure compliance to global WHS standards and regulations.

- Audit the workplace organization and Associate behaviors to ensure that training, auditing and scoring methods are accurate and consistent

- Ensure site leadership and Associates are trained and knowledgeable of their responsibilities under each policy. Audit the quality, delivery (including qualifications of the trainer), and effectiveness of all required WHS training.

Basic Qualifications

3+ years growing responsibilities in multi-site operations in safety and/or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations.

Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement

Bachelor or diploma degree in safety, environmental, or a related field or significant work experience within these areas.

Experience in developing and implementing EHS procedures, training and other processes.

Proficient in Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications

You possess experience of Lean, 5S and Kaizen methodologies

Qualifications or experience of environmentally-conscious initiatives would be advantageous.

Basic Qualifications

- 4+ years of workplace health & safety (WHS) related field experience

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent

- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, specifically 29 CFR 1910

- Experience using Microsoft Word in a professional capacity

- Experience maintaining confidentiality in matters involving security or personnel issues in the workplace

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in emergency response

- Experience in worker's compensation case management

Standard work tracker to follow:

Audits

Austin Actions/Escalations

Managing/Investigating Injuries

Writing injury report

Completing stews for safety violations

Onsite contractors meet requirements

Attend start ups

Monitor building temp

Would not own any policies but monitor compliance.

Various actions/inspections,

Responsible for: Supporting safety committee, partner with operations.

Responsible for walking floor, coaching associates on body mechanics.

All through that tracker, if you complete that tracker, you are.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.
