Job Description
The Financial & Prevailing Wage Compliance Auditor supports both the financial integrity and regulatory compliance of renewable energy projects. This dual-role position focuses on auditing certified payrolls, verifying wage and fringe benefit accuracy, and ensuring adherence to prevailing wage and apprenticeship requirements. The auditor also manages compliance dashboards, conducts discrepancy research, and communicates findings to stakeholders. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented professionals with a experience in finance/accounting, tax, payroll, and compliance who excel in dynamic, cross-functional environments.
Responsibilities
- Audit data inputs from contractors pertaining to prevailing wage and apprenticeship.
- Compare data against criteria set in project tax and finance stipulations and contract exhibit(s).
- Verify data for completeness and correctness.
- Create reports for deficiencies to management and corrective action notes.
- Input data into dashboards showing overall compliance on a weekly basis.
- Host meetings with management to present weekly reports of work completed and the status of audits.
- Review payroll and determine if correct wages are paid, fringe benefits contributions made, and all other aspects of labor compliance have been fulfilled per the client's requirements/contract.
- Gather certified payrolls and other related documentation, execute detailed audits, compose reports of findings, perform discrepancy research, provide support, and be the main point of contact for any prevailing wage labor compliance requirements.
Essential Skills
- Experience with payroll administration, audit & analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis).
- Experience with compliance tracking software (LPC Tracker) and technical databases.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- High attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Experience in tax compliance and audit processes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of experience in payroll administration.
- Preference for candidates with audit experience, expert-level proficiency in Excel, and tax compliance skills.
- Experience with certified payroll and LPC Tracker software.
- Familiarity with Davis-Bacon Act or Inflation Reduction Act wage compliance.
Work Environment
This position is based onsite in Juno Beach, FL, operating Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM.
