Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Open Heart procedures to join our dynamic team. This position involves working in a Level II Trauma Center located in the heart of Kissimmee, minutes away from Orlando. As a teaching hospital partnered with UCF College of Medicine, we offer state-of-the-art healthcare services, including Emergency Care, Trauma Care, Pediatric ER, Heart & Vascular Institute, and Comprehensive Stroke Center.


Responsibilities

  • Administer medication and provide patient care with a focus on Open Heart procedures.
  • Operate and manage cardiopulmonary bypass machines.
  • Ensure sedation protocols are followed accurately.
  • Participate in on-call rotations once a week and one weekend a month, with flexibility for departmental needs.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Open Heart (CVOR) RN in an Acute Care environment.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida or eligibility to obtain licensure prior to start.
  • Proficiency in administering medication, patient care, and operating cardiopulmonary bypass machines.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • BSN preferred.
  • Certification in BLS, ACLS, PALS (from approved providers).
  • CNOR certification is preferred.

Work Environment

The role involves working in a sterile and supportive environment with shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM. On-call duties are expected as needed.
